Tim Gunkel

New York Mets, Executive Director, Production and Events

A 1984 college internship with the New York Mets launched Tim Gunkel’s 34-year career in sports and live entertainment presentation. During his 30 seasons with the Mets, Gunkel has produced pregame ceremonies and game day presentations for the 1986, 2000, and 2015 World Series; the 2013 All-Star Game; the Inaugural Jackie Robinson Day; the first MLB game in New York City following the 9/11 attacks; and over 2,000 regular season games. His non-Mets credits include a variety of producing, directing, and large screen technical roles at events for World Cup Soccer, IndyCar and Formula One Racing, World Cup Skiing, US Open Tennis, the New York and Boston Marathons, the Cotton Bowl, America’s Cup Sailing, the Super Bowl, the World War II Memorial Dedication, the 2018 NHL Winter Classic, a Presidential Inauguration, and countless other live events. These days, Gunkel is busy learning about ST2110 and trying to figure out how his beloved Mets can get back to the World Series.
